While traditional Thanksgiving waits for sweater weather, Summersgiving invites us to bring the gratitude early—and outside. Born from a clever idea in 2009 (by a guy who just didn’t want to wait until November for stuffing), Summersgiving has become a lighthearted, unofficial holiday celebrated the Saturday after the summer solstice. Think Thanksgiving’s greatest hits—turkey, pie, lawn games—just with more daylight and fewer casseroles.

And this year, as we approach another major milestone in our Workday journey, it feels like the perfect time to bring a little Summersgiving spirit to our team.

Across the System, dedicated teams have been collaborating at each campus, configuring processes, migrating data, solving problems, and training users—all with one mission: to build a better, more unified future for students, staff, and faculty. And wow, have you delivered!

So as the grills fire up and watermelon slices fly, we raise a glass (of iced tea, probably) to:
